North-South Magnet. We have sourced magnets which is are the right size for children’s hands to hold. Youngsters can begin to explore the wonders of science with this simple magnet. Figure out which materials are magnetic and which ones aren’t. See how paper clips “jump” up to the magnet as you move it at a distance above them. Place the paperclips onto a plastic tray and using the magnet underneath the tray, see if you can make the paperclips move across the tray. Magic!!
If you have a second magnet, you can begin to explore the way in which magnets’ poles either attract or repel each other. Great Fun!
